Architizer raises $7 million to launch a new products database

Business news: American media company Architizer has received $7 million to develop an online products marketplace for architects that aims to be as revolutionary as Airbnb and Uber.
The funding, which equates to approximately £4.9 million, will go towards the development and launch of Architizer Source, an online tool that enables architects to more easily specify products.

New York City's Getting Wi-Fi Hotspots to Replace Pay Phone Booths

LinkNYC, a project funded by CityBridge, has already begun to install the Wi-Fi hotspots in New York City The Wall Street Journal reports. On Tuesday two kiosks were unveiled though they won't be working for another week or so, the New York Daily News reports. With a goal of 500 kiosks set up by July CityBridge aims to install a total 7,500 kiosks thanks to a $200 million investment.

The curriculum and approach is inspired by the Microsoft Software and Systems Academy (MSSA), which provides valuable tech skills to exiting members of the U.S. military in the months before their return to civilian life.
