By searching for the perfect icebreaker or trying to develop the most memorable closing line, we’ve forgotten that the most interesting thing about us is US.

Storytelling is the communication tool that will allow you to rise above the noise, redefine what it means to be an authoritative voice and eliminate worry about doing things the "right way".

Once you have storytelling tools and techniques, you will be able to:

  • Put out consistent content that you feel good about, that's true to your voice and your values
  • Close more sales and build deeper professional relationships.
  • Walk away from interviews (podcast, media, job, etc.) knowing that you represented yourself in the most genuine way.
  • Increase your creativity and innovation in the way you are speaking and sharing with any audience.

In this workshop, Tell Me A Story Founder Hillary Rea taught participants how to use their own stories to show up, speak up, and stand out.

Hillary guided the group through self-reflective exercises that stretched them and enabled them to become more comfortable telling their stories in their professional communications -- whether they speak to an audience of one or one thousand.

By the end of this session participants:

  • Learned how storytelling helps them to find alignment between your professional persona and your personal mission, vision and values.
  • Expanded their definition of storytelling and moved beyond the hero's journey.
  • Shifted their perspective away from who they want to become and more toward what they want to be known for.
  • Met the tools that will help them gain confidence in (and redefine) their communication style while tapping into their natural leadership abilities.

About Our Speaker:

Hillary Rea is the founder of Tell Me A Story, a communication consulting and coaching business that trains multi-passionate entrepreneurs, mission-driven leaders, and committed change makers how to use the art of storytelling as a powerful communication tool. She is an award-winning storyteller (NYC Moth StorySLAM winner and 2019 Rad Award for Storyteller of the year), was an artist-in-residence at Elsewhere in Greensboro, NC, and a recipient of the 2016 Independence Foundation Fellowship in the Arts. In addition to running her own business, Hillary is the producer and host of Rashomon - a long form narrative storytelling podcast where one family tells every side of the same story.
