Community Breakfast with Crown Shy

Date: 05/30/2020

Time: 11:00am
Where: LMHQ, Virtual,
Fee: $5

LMHQ’s monthly Women’s Breakfast series has been on hiatus due to the Covid-19 outbreak, but we miss coming together over coffee and bagels! This month, join us for our first-ever virtual Community Breakfast with Lower Manhattan neighbors Crown Shy and stay tuned for the return of Women’s Breakfasts in the coming weeks. Please note: All proceeds from this event will go to support Rethink Food NYC.
Exhausted your egg preparation methods? Tired of both hot AND cold oatmeal? Join LMHQ for a Community Breakfast featuring critically acclaimed Lower Manhattan restaurant Crown Shy! Sumaiya Bangee, Pastry Sous Chef, will show participants how to elevate their at-home brunch game with a modern twist to a classic recipe. Pull from basic pantry staples to create a first-class home dining experience and get answers to your pressing culinary questions.
Crown Shy is the first solo project of Chef James Kent and Restaurateur Jeff Katz. Inspired by James’s upbringing in downtown New York and his experience leading the city’s most celebrated kitchens, Crown Shy is a neighborhood seasonal restaurant elevated by fine dining training and technique.
Rethink Food NYC fights against food excess and hunger for a more sustainable and just food system. Typically, Crown Shy works with Rethink to provide food scraps after service to feed those in need in New York. During the Covid-19 crisis, Rethink’s focus has shifted to also feeding frontline workers. The Crown Shy chefs staying in 70 Pine are currently making 900 meals a day for Rethink. For additional donations to Rethink, please visit their website.
